What happens if the match finishes as a tie?
If everything is all-square at the completion of the game the match goes into extra holes starting at the first, with strokes being taken as per the scorecard until a winner is determined.
What happens if the match is abandoned?
If a match has to be abandoned during the 18 holes (ie: due to poor light or adverse weather) the round should be replayed at the original venue. If a match has to be abandoned during extra holes the round should be replayed at the away players course.
What happens if a match is cancelled?
Once a date and time has been agreed and either side cancels the match within 72 hours the opponents may claim match. If more than 72 hours notice is given the match should be re-arranged at a mutually agreed time. Canceling a match twice results in disqualification.
How are any disputes settled?
If an agreement cannot be reached between opponents the Tournament Organiser should be contacted urgently and his decision will be final. If players fail to comply with rules of the championship they will face disqualification.
Can I change my partner in the Pairs competition?
No. Changes cannot be made to a pairing once your entry has been accepted. The only exception to this is if you reach the Grand Final of both the Individual and Pairs competitions in which case you must find a replacement partner for the Pairs event.
I’ve won my match, what now?
Once a match has been played, the winner(s) are responsible for informing the Tournament Organiser of the result of the match by email (info@yorkshirematchplay.com).
